Coffee Ambassadors is taking a group of fourteen people to our Honduras coffee partner's farm: Rancho Ebenezer.
The cost is $1350/person. And, time's running short. We'll need $750 of the total up front with your application to cover the airfare (Liz will get you an application).
Our schedule each day will consist mainly of work projects in the morning (building
a coffee drying canopy, laying cement floors for some houses in the community that still have dirt floors, and picking some coffee cherries), some down time after lunch, and then time with the kids on the Ranch in the afternoons. About 30 orphans live at the Ranch - they're
living in a foster care situation, and this situation is giving them the chance to live in a
stable environment outside the chaos of the big city. We will be looking at our team's skills and are potentially looking to have you teach
elective workshops for the students (for example, you might help lead a workshop on
photography, woodworking, music, etc.). The kids will be able to choose a few sessions
to attend throughout the week; thus, we’ll be teaching the kids practical skills, while enjoying being in their presence for a week.
This is a service trip, among other things. The orphanage is a non-profit that has agreed to make your trip tax deductible. Some of you may not be able to cover the trip cost. But, if you let your friends and family know you're going on a service/educational trip, maybe they'll want to pitch in to see that you get to go. And, by doing so, they'll receive a tax-deductible receipt!
